Tibial Rotation (Twisted Leg, Twisted Tibia)

I would imagine it's more common in young birds, but that's just a guess.

This information could not have come at a more timely occasion for a large dark cornish pullet. From your pics it appears she has the identical problem that developed last week. I've been working with her giving her supplemental calcium and vitamin D.

I'll be relieving relieving her of her problems today.

@casportpony She's a very fine show quality pullet. I inherited/took her from my breed mentor while visiting over the holiday. He has enough depth in the breed so culling her would not impact his egg production. I'm just starting off with a trio of dark cornish this year. And i have more time to piddle with this stuff than he does.

He was going to cull this 8 year old hen also. Her egg laying machine is running on empty. Has only laid 8 eggs in past 2 years. She has the potential to make some very fine babies. She's as massive as some roosters. Ill feed her for another 2 years to get 8 eggs off her.

He threw in her daughter/ coop mate so she wouldn't get lonely. He won't admit it but he has a soft side to for his chickens.

Can you post some pictures of her legs? And maybe a video of her walking?

Her left pupil looks a bit funny in the pictures. How does it look to you?

Think it's just the flash. She doesnt behave as she's blind by keeping the right side turned to see.

She cant walk. She's hard down. She can move her legs at the thigh joint but the knees are locked it seems. I can work the joint but its very stiff at first. I was hoping it was an upset calcium level since she just started laying.

I don't know if chickens can have strokes but it looks neurological to me. There are no signs of distress. Just can't get on her feet.

She's losing to much weight and is dehydrated. I don't think it's respectful to keep het alive.

And i don't know why but this stupid phone will record videos but i cant figure out how to post them.
