TICK SEASON..

@Uwish , the one problem with that chart is that it doesn't show the size differences between deer ticks, for example, and all the others. And there's a newly imported tick, whose name I don't remember, to add to the list.
Miserable critters, all of them!
We also used to use a match in an ashtray (when everyone smoked, long ago!).
Permethrin in a plastic bag works fine too. DO NOT try to squish them, or use your knife on any, or handle one with your bare hand. Nasty diseases are not good to spread around...

My experience this week with Bobcat Fever was absolutely horrible. It has a 90% fatality rate and devastatingly my cat did not survive. It made me aware of just how easily diseases can be transmitted to animals. I was never careful enough but will be in the future.

If you have a better chart please post it. I Just posted it because it reminded me it’s tick season and people need to do their homework. I believe the majority of farm people know but I’m sure there’s a few out there who don’t great u posted your removal methods and reminder for people are good info for people. Ty

Sooo sorry to hear about your cat. If you were closer I’d be happy to give you one of the orphan four rescues I have right now. Not that they could replace your baby but sometimes it’s helpful And healing. I just myself got reminded of tech season because an old post of mine came up about ticks so I thought I would try to remind everybody here❤️

I found out the hard way that they don’t drown and can live in the water for a period of time that’s why I make sure they die.
As much as I hate and despise ticks I hate to see anything suffer me personally I grab them a tweezers or burn them to get them off and then I smash them so they die quickly ( yes I’m that person) lol
