TikTok ban?

One of the main reasons I hate about TikTok that isn't talked about enough is some of the media on there. It's just pure brainrot. People spreading hate about other people, beauty standards, etc. And of course, parents let their kids watch that stuff and kids then of course think everything they see is real and accurate and start spreading fake information, girls try to own up to extreme beauty standards, and everyone spreads hate about other people. People just need to do their own research instead of relying on social media is what I think personally. Do you like the content and feel like it'll be useful, or is your brain just addicted to it? You see, some stuff on TikTok is fine, like cooking vids or informational things about history, DIY's etc. You may use that for future reference. But the other stuff, like people doing makeup/skincare routines, people doing weird dances, why do you need to watch that ? What the heck do you gain from watching that?
Just my opinions.

Agreed. When I consume social media I try to stick with stuff that has a positive effect on me. I want to learn, or laugh, or both! It doesn't always happen that way, but that's the goal and it usually works. I've never used TikTok but the stuff I've seen from friends and the internet...wow.

I see both sides. I use it, mostly chicken content, a viral video of a chicken shaking off after a dirt bath lol but even at that I do see both sides. What bothers me about TikTok is the influence it has over young people and society in general. The same can be said for other platforms, too, though. TikTok just seems to have caught the most flack because of its popularity, imo. I think it would be (and is) very easy to spread information on that app, with that it’s alarmingly easy to influence and manipulate people via the app. Personally I think it will be nice if a lot of people unplugged and lived in the real world for a while, I’m not sure I support a ban, though.

Well said! Life was less complicated before the internet and social media! It all has it`s place used responsibly though IMO.
