(When we do this battle thing, are we doing it like "Joe hit Bob" or "Joe lashed out with his hand towards Bob"?)

Jao stepped sideways, moving in a slow circle around Terrik. His ears were pricked towards the other wolf and all his senses alert. He stepped lightly, ready to move.

(( No more than three blows per post. No dodging every single blow. Powers allowed occasionaly. :) ))

Terrik's muscles bunched. "You gonna make your move or what?" He taunted.

(Okay, I should mention though that Jao's ability is speed, so he would be able to avoid more blows then the average wolf)

Jao pondered this for a moment, his fur unruffled at Terrik's jib "I didn't know I was going to be rushed," He replied innocently, cracking a small, devilish grin as he watched Terrik.

(( ... okay, just not every blow. :) ))

Terrik grinned. "Fine then." He reared, sliding under Jao and wrapping his large wings around Jao's legs. He nipped Jao's underside hard several times.

Terrik grinned. "Fine then." He reared, sliding under Jao and wrapping his large wings around Jao's legs. He nipped Jao's underside hard several times.
Jao jumped at the same moment Terrik moved, causing his grip on his legs to be on his paws instead and the bites to not be as hard. He jerked his paws free and rolled down Terrik's wings to his soft, unprotected abdomen. His claws slid out and he ripped six long gashes, three from each paw across his soft belly, blood welling up on either side of his claws. Using his speed, he jumped out of harms way before Terrik could launch a counter-attack, landing on the top of his head. His weight caused Terrik's teeth to snap together on his own tongue which Jao gave one last leap. He landed several metres away and turned to face Terrik, his claws sliding on some loose rocks as he stopped and waited for his oponent to move, his entire attack having took only a second to perform.

Terrik snarled, blood seeping from his tounge. He dashed forward, his wings spread to make him just as fast as Jao. He lunged onto Jao, thrashing about, sending Jao shaking wildly. Terrik kept his hind claws on Jao's abdomen, then took his two front claws and clapped Jao's jaws together, so that Jao's top teeth slammed against his bottom teeth. Terrik pushed all his weight on his hind class, pushing Jao's abdomen down into a sitting position, where Jao's own hind class stabbed into his (Jao's) stomach.

Jao was strangely silent, he did not yelp or cry out in pain. He punched forwards with his hind paws, slashing Terrik in the same gashes he had created before, making them deeper and the blood flow more freely. He wriggled free of Terrik's front claws, slippery as a fish and quick as a snake. Terrik might be able to match his speed on a straightaway course, but his bulky wings made him even less agile. He jumped to the side and kicked his chest, making him off balance and cracking a rib before skidding out of reach again.

Terrik balanced on his front paws and twisted, thrashing back and forth, slashing Jao's face mulitple times, the cuts deep and oozing blood. One blow was
landed on Jao's nose, almost taking it off completely.
"Stop!" The Shadow cried. "Jao, you are quite smart, my child."
The villagers closed in on the arena, awaiting The Shadow's desicion.
"Jao, you are worthy of being a mason. I grant you the rank of mason!"
Terrik looked to Jao, and dipped his head. "You fought very well, Jao."

Jao shook his head slightly to clear his eyes of blood and used one of his front paws to straighten his nose. He raised his gaze to meet The Shadow's wearing the same cool, neutral expression he had maintained since the moment he arrived. "Thank you."
