Am I the only one who thinks it's time to retire some of these threads that have several thousand replies in them? I'm not saying punt the topic, but at least start the threads over again so that there aren't a prohibitive number of posts for new voices in the conversation that may be put off by the massive numbers of replies. We have threads with as many as 14,000 replies-- far too many. Let's start over and put the insanely long threads to bed for now-- what say ye?

It's not a bad proposal, but I'm not sure it's going to work out. Remember those 'many' threads were started by BYC members who have kept them going till now. The rich information from the history and experiences of contributors that are contained in those long threads cannot just be shelved simply because they are many.

Again if you observed closely, longer running threads cover major topics especially those on types of breeds, hatching among others.

Once you start something interesting and fun, it just keep going. That's my take anyway
