I got my first 4 chickens 7 years ago, which were 2 pair of OEGBs. 7 years later my oegb flock consists of 1 rooster and 5 hens, all of which came from those 4 birds 7 years ago. I haven't added any new blood. Is it time to add a few individuals with new blood to the flock? I'm scared if I don't add new blood soon that they will suffer fertility problems, along with other problems. Since these came from my very first chickens they are extremely important to me and I want to keep the family going. Any thoughts?
