Glad you're here BBM! I may have to DM you to pick your brain about those little buzzy things.

If you haven't yet, please make your poultry a FIRST AID KIT for any issues that would arise.
It's definitely better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Also, make sure your coop(s) have a proper amount of VENTILATION. Your chickens will absolutely thank you for it!

One last thing, please get your chickens some Vaseline or bag balm to stave off frostbite before they get it! Baby, it's cold outside!

I really want to try one small hive in the summer...been thinking about it for awhile now. Seems like it could be a really great experience with a sweet bonus.

I would suggest you join a local beekeeping Club the year prior to wanting to get the bees that way you can learn the beekeeping year. Especially what you need to do to prep for winter because a lot of bee hives die through the winter. And you start a beehive in the spring not in the summer and this is what joining a club will help you understand. And it can also save you money from costly mistakes.
