Time to take the turner out of the 'bator! Question

We're pretty excited, it's time to take the turner out of the 'bator. Are we supposed to hand turn the eggs the next few days or do we leave them still and keep the lid shut on the 'bator till they hatch? Oh another question, do we remove one of the plugs from the 'bator lid? We have the Hovabator 1620 still air.

See the "read me on hatching" stickies at the top of this thread for information. You do not turn the eggs anymore after Day 18. take them out of the turner, lay them on their sides (or, I use the carton hatching method for mine but that's your preference) boost your humidity & DO NOT OPEN THE BATOR!

Do not turn anymore, leave the lid on, nice and tight(they need humidity)--your humidity should be up to about 60 or 70--if it's lower, just add some more water. Also, your temps may drop since your eggs are now sitting, so watch your temps on your thermometer and if it's too low, up it a little at a time till you get to about 99.5-100. Good luck! Oh, and as the chicks hatch, whatever you do, try not to take the lid off--when you lose humidity, you lose chicks. Chicks can stay in the incubator up to 24 hours while their bodies absorb the yolk.

LOL--they are HARD!! Just remember--even when you see pipping and hear peeping, keep that lid shut!!! Sit on your hands if you have to! lol And please keep us posted!!!
