Tina Anderson

I live in North East Arkansas, single mom to my 2 wonderful redneck divas and our dog Bandit. Have had chickens in our family life since I was a kid. Now that it's just me and my girls and my dog, we are planning on having a small flock of egg layers this coming year or at least have everything done and ready to get our flock in and accustomed to our new life by late summer. Can't wait to see what all I've missed and catch up on my learning of raising feathered friends and make sure I have the best plans and practices used to start our first ever girls only flock...thanks for letting me join ya..tina
Welcome! Tons of info here!

Welcome to BYC Tina. I have family out in the Charlotsville area in Arkansas. I hope BYC is the resource you need. I will shoot you a link to the livestock conservancy as they have a pretty decent link for heritage breeds and FAQ's. Heritage breeds are definatly not the only breeds out there but worth looking over, also I love their idea of writing up a "job description" for your flock.

I wish you and your gals all the best in your chicken wrangling future!

G’Day from down under Tina :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock when they arrive, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
