Tino just flogged my Grandma!!! Here is what i did:

Bearing in mind the OP has already stated she is keeping him, and he is a pet.

I did have a cockerel who was initially aggressive but he settled down. Maybe there is still hope for Tino. I don't think putting himself alone in a bachelor pad is the answer. He's going to need company.

Since you are keeping him, I'd make sure he is thoroughly away from people you don't want him to peck - which is basically everyone, I hope 🤣 - I'd also wear high boots when you go into his pen. Gloves too, if you feel like it.

Don't give him the chance to go near the people you love until he proves himself.
And, just to add, aggressive Roos can serve as great protection if someone with bad intentions comes near you, especially if the rooster likes you.

Nope, never letting anyone I care about get close, I made the mistake of trusting him today, never again. There are some people... But like I said, I don't want any living being to experience harm. So No one.

Thank you for always being light hearted every time you respond to a thread, I'm usually cracking up by the end of your responses.

There is this one boy... He likes to think were friends, but likes to kick and punch me. I hate his guts. He is a friend of my best friend though, and my best friend... Well, he hates it when I fight his friends lol. I've kicked him back, but everyone knows I'm stronger lol, no point in rubbing it in. I would love to see Tino chase him across a feild  though😉

Ok, I made a 6×6×6 frame, I still need a few boards, and I have scrap hardware cloth that I can use. I plan to plastic wire the top, and then cover it in a tarp. I can get pics later if you need! I have to start getting up earlier, and it isn't very predoter proof, so I have permition to put it by the window. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing lol.

Thanks guys, I don't plan on letting anyone with him again. He is so sweet sometimes... Then other times I'm plotting to send him to freezer camp. My light Brahma cockerel is the same age now that Tino was the first time he went at me lol. Still sweet as can be. He will be the new roo in that flock! Tino can live in solitude.View attachment 2317457
Dont let anyone make you feel bad about the way you handled your "Flogging" Rooster.
You did what you thought was right at the time. Plus, your going to protect everyone next time from his aggression. "Good for you!".
Research on here on how to handle a Rooster that "Flogs". Get up to date factual information from some of the "Experts" on here.
I am not a Rooster Behaviorist. Lol

I feel bad for scaring him, but good about having him think twice before coming at me. He continued to get his face. Girl in front of me, and breed with her, should I stop him? I don't care that he is mating, its expected of a roo. But is it a dominance thing? I submissive roo with brains wouldn't do that in front of a dominate one right? My Grandma has a nasty bruise where he pecked and "spires" her. She isn't mad though, she thinks she should have been paying better attention, I still feel bad about her getting hurt though.

I did protect the UPS guy from him though:rolleyes:
