Went out to get eggs today and there was a tiny egg about the size of a giant marble. Or one of the jumbo acorns. It's really weird bc my girls are 10 months old. Their eggs are pretty good size normally. What causes this????

It's usually called a fart egg or wind egg. Just a little malfunction in the production plant. Nothing to worry about!

did you crack it open to see if there was a yolk, sometimes there isnt, sometimes there is a teeny one, its neat to get one of those everyonce in a while, just to keep things interesting!

I cracked mine open and there was a real tiny yoke and everything in there! lol I had it for breakfast, but it was only a bite! LOL!!!

Makes you want to add more eggs just so you got something to eat. Like my brother said "Amy if I had to live on your chickens eggs, I would starve!" at first I was only getting bantum eggs, smaller than smalls.

I have gotten those also...my Grandmother used to say it is the egg laid by the hen when it's her last egg...but I know that is not the case becacuse I got one last week and my hens are less than a year old as well....glad to know i am not the only one getting those once in a while.

LoL
I got one too this morning !!
