OK troops,

Our Ameracauna, who started laying beautiful eggs 2 weeks ago, gave us this tiny egg this morning. I thought a Robin got in the box and laid! Ha ha!

Anything to be worried about? We haven't opened it up yet to see what's inside.

Here's a side by side - normal vs. today.

Thoughts?

I have hens that are almost two and have been laying for quit some time and they will occasionally lay eggs that look like something that should be in a wild birds nest. They usually are full of the eg white. None of them seem worse for wear, I really won't worry about it.

If she's only been laying a couple weeks, it's probably one of the weird "fart eggs" that pullets often lay, nothing to be worried about

Wait until she gets older. Every once in a while you will get a double yoker. A friend of mine had a hen lay one that was almost twice the size of her jumbos. Her husband was so surprised, he took a picture.
