This is the egg I got from one of my new laying RIR. It was so tiny and cute hubby said looked like a robins egg only brown

You know I got a couple of eggs like this too. They seemed very porous and one was even empty. What causes something like that? Are they deficient in something? It cleared up so I didn't change anything and they are on a good diet of Layena pellets and free range.

Has anyone experienced them laying eggs without a shell?

Yes we had one of those too. They are just trying to get the plumbing to work right I also started mixing the oyster shells in their food instead of free choice and havent had another. Today we got one that was pretty big for what they are laying right now. Kinda freaked my hen out. She was in and out of the nest box. Really acting panickey so I made her stay in one and petted her talking softly to her when she calmed down out popped the egg.
