Tiny Egg?

I have a flock of big girls, Brahmas and Orpingtons. Yesterday I got the smallest egg I have seen from a standard chicken. It is the size of a quarter. The girls have only been laying for about six months... could this of just been a hiccup? All five girls laid today, all normal size eggs. I just want to make sure it's not something to worry about

just like you said, a hiccup! Or I've also heard it called an " egg fart"

Nahh don't worry about it. You get these eggs every once in a while.

It generally doesn't mean anything is wrong with the hen. Usually they

are 'fart eggs', with-out a yolk, just whites, but I have seen them with

yolks aswell. Don't try incubating it - just a heads up

I think they are so cute! I pick them up where I find them and put them on a shelf in the barn... they are quit the conversation piece

We get them every so often, too, especially from the younger girls. Completely normal. Here's one we got from a duck the other day:
