I have 9 guineas with 6 of them being hens. For 5 of these, this is their first year of laying. They started up mid to late April and all had normal size eggs. In the past week or so, one of them has been laying a very small egg, about half the size of a normal guinea egg. I thought they were probably yolkless, like small chicken eggs so when I opened it, I found a yolk. I will be setting some of these this week in the incubator along with some normal sized ones to see if they develop. Just curious if anyone has had any luck with these tiny eggs. Maybe I will start a new trend. miniguineas

I'll take a picture tonight of the difference and post it.

Finally!! Here is a picture of the size difference. She is still laying these tiny little eggs. Everyday I get one. I have a few in the incubator and I think tonight I'll candle and see if I can see anything.

ETA: This is a closeup. The egg on the left is a typical size guinea egg. Teeny is on the right.

Mine are all a normal size guineas so I'm not sure what's going on. After I candle tonight I'll report back and let you all know if I can see any development.

zazouse - do your little eggs have a yolk?

The 3 I had set all appear to be clear. I'm going to give them another couple days since its early in the incubation. Even if they all end up clear, I'm going to set some more recent ones just to see what happens. Who knows. I may get lucky
