Wow, she totally looks like that! Thanks y'all. All the other eggs from that batch were actually silkie/polish mixes, but this little girl...

if the parent type hens, were exposed to some other kind of rooster, before you put them in these breeding pens- then it is possible that those hens could have carried fertile eggs from a previous male- without being exposed to them for quite some time. I've heard stories of hens carrying fertile eggs for over a month before.

especially if you starting incubating ASAP.

if she's got black skin, then she's def got some silkie in her. I would guess some kind of not so pure silkie hen, was exposed to some sort of a game bantam roo.
 
That coloration is called Brown Red in game birds. I don't see Polish, those crosses usually have a remnant of a crest. The Silkie looks kind of doubtful too. Certainly no Black Copper Marans, either, completely wrong size and type.

You've got yourself an Old English Game Bantam...somehow.
