Yes! They are brown eggs. I have thought that was possible, just wish someone could confirm this. Are they brown eggs? If they are it's far more likely it is the brown pigment leaching to the inside of the shell through the pores.
Yep it's just the color from the shell going through. It's perfectly fine to eat. I've seen it lots of times even in store bought eggs.View attachment 2008502
Yes, the spots are on the shell, under the membrane. The spots don't stain the membrane or transfer to the yoke or white
Any idea why it would appear all of a sudden like that? No feed change. That's just pigment on the shell. This pic would've helped me a lot yesterday morning
Thank you!!! This really sets my mind to ease. I was going a bit crazy.Yep it's just the color from the shell going through. It's perfectly fine to eat. I've seen it lots of times even in store bought eggs.
Possibly thinner shell, the bumps on the outside could also make it easier for the pigment to pass through, or it just spent longer inside the hen getting painted. I've noticed it most on eggs that have speckles.Any idea why it would appear all of a sudden like that? No feed change.
