Wow! She's acting like a rooster! No WAY she's getting eggs! This morning clinched that decision for us. She was actually dangerous-not being facetious here. She was flaring up and screaming. DH reached down and she pecked him and he grabbed her and cuddled her and she calmed down and hid her face, as she always does. The trouble came when he tried to put her down. She grabbed his shirt at the chest and held on. When he put her down quickly and jumped back, she came at him with intent, spurs flying, a full on attack. I'd feel sorry for a timber wolf trying to get near her right now, I swear!
This is seriously dangerous because you have to watch your face and know where she is at all times. I just went into the coop and she was on the bar in front of the nests, having been shoved out by one of the big Barred Rock hens. She glared at me, fluffed out like a cobra, screamed and turned to face me like she was going to lauch herself at me. I saw more in her eyes than I wanted to and grabbed the poop rake right next to me in the front corner of the coop. This is not normal broody behavior and honestly, what I dreaded from her.
