yes, they probably end up as coyote food but at least they have a chance. They always start out swimming down stream in the creek but we have never seen any of them again.

I'll try to be as nice as I can, but right now I'm so ticked..........

They have NO CHANCE when you take a domesticated duck and turn it lose.

What are sold in feed stores are many generations removed from wild ducks. A few might survive, but most don't even know how to find food. They have no clue how to forage. Nor do most domestic ducks fly. Even my Mallards can't really fly like a wild Mallard, they don't have the muscle development.

So what is this chance you think you are giving them? There's a darned good reason you never see them again. You sent most if not all of them off to their deaths.

On a side note- you let your "little one" swim in duck water? Not sure what the disease and filth parameters are there....... Oh well.

I agree. In most places it is illegal to dump ducks like that, never mind the terror and fear of being grabbed up and eaten alive by a coyote.

Domestic ducks dumped like yesterday's trash have absolutely NO chance or surviving in the wild.

ETA I am posting here as a member not an admin. After working years in domestic waterfowl rescue and seeing unspeakable horror and cruelty by misinformed "people" , this type of behavior outrages me.
