Tips for putting a bird on the ground

So I want to put my 8 week old Orpington on the ground tomorrow in a coop that we have and it is separated. But do I need to introduce her to the soil first? Should I start a corid prevention treatment tomorrow? I’m dealing with a baby who is 4 weeks and highly unlikely but a vet thinks it mareks.... my 8 week old would be exposed.... I’ve never had to put babies in the ground before

Also the run was previously used by my leghorn who passed away. Would this be safe for her to be in? She died of a broken leg
