Tips for raising baby chick from birth?

I just picked up the chicks from the post office and had bought a straight run of Cornish Rock Cross. I got 6 boys and 5 girls! Glad the extra was a boy since males are bigger than females when the time comes to harvest them. I am surprised that the straight run was 50/50.
