Tips for someone who is making an incubator

you would probably want some type of thermostat to control the temp, it will cost more money for your project, but it is worth it, with out a thermostat, the temp would be like that of the temp in a Chick-bator,,,,,,,, a lot of people us a water heater thermostat, and a lot use a dimmer switch

if i for somereason didn't use a dimmer switch or other type of thermostat could i get away with using a small computer fan instead?

Ayda, you have a very economical setup. mine will resemble yours hopefully........ unless i ofcourse go over board

Yes I could of done that but I was trying to prove to myself that I didn't have to spend mega amounts and still make it nice. At one point when i couldn't get the temp regulated I almost caved in and just bought a new one, but am glad I didn't.
i stare at it all the time I'm home lol, it's in my living room area.

i dont know for sure, because i have a thermostat and a fan, it would be best if you could some how scrounge up 10 dollars for a water heater thermostat, and a fan would be necessary, i use a fan that stays on all the time if ya'll wanted to know

I have Ameracuana hens and i usually only eat my doms eggs lol so this will be constructed tommarow on my day off work. i will stil need air vents though right? should they be close to the eggs? it seems like they would catch a draft that way

Quintip,
I am also trying to use the dry hatch method, have a question tho, do you not pay attention at all to humidity, mine had a low of 16 and high of 21, I live in WY of course dry dry dry, i did put a tbsp of water in and went up to 34?? should i just leave it alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
