try multiple traps. believe it or not people buy havahart traps all the time without the proper use of them. trapng animals is a skill set. anyone can catch the dumb ones. to make a good weasel trap. build a rectangular box about 6 inches high a foot long and 5 inches wide. on each end drill a 2 inch hole about an inch down from the top. get 2 rat traps and some liver from the store. set the rat traps so that they have the triggers towards the openings and then put the liver n between the 2 traps. sit the box over top of the traps and liver. mink are much more difficult and depending on your state laws is how you trap them. I will bet you have a mink or weasel along with a raccon. raccoons will kill everything just for sport, but they will do more then just eat the head.
for raccoons in the havahart, get tuna fish in the can and just poke holes in the can and put in the back of the trap. then get a bunch of the little marshmellows. throw some in front of the trap and make a trail right into it. if that doesn't work, go to walmart and get the small training golfballs. they look like mini wiffle balls. pack it full of peanut butter and hang it from the rear of the trap inside. Raccoons like visiual aids, this gets them into the trap and playing with it to get the food and more likely to trigger the trap.
