tips on hatching in an egg carton.

I'm just waiting on my first hatch. They are on day 21 and we haven't seen a pip yet. They are set in a carton and I'm just wondering if I will be able to see a wiggle from them. We candled on day 18 before putting them in lockdown and they were wigglin around in there.

Sounds exactly like us. Its day 21 using a Styrofoam egg carton with the bottom cut out and I'm ready to see some pips! We did remove the eggs from the carton on day 18, and placed them on their sides.

My wife and 5 year old claim to have seen them moving yesterday afternoon, but I did not observe any movement last night when I got home from work. And my 5 year old isn't terribly credible either...

I have seen YouTube videos of eggs moving and they were noticeably wiggling without having to look hard to see it, which is why I doubt our eggs were moving. I'm sure the wife and kids are just excited.

I hope parklandchicks had a better hatch than me. All 13 eggs developed till around day 18. None hatched. Not quite sure why, but I'm new at it and have identified some refinements I need to make to my process.

My rooster is already making sure I have plenty of fertile eggs to try again with. What a great guy he is! I'm setting the new batch of eggs tomorrow.
