Tips on identifying which chickens are laying,

Hi! I have 6 hens currently that should be laying, but I've only actually witnessed a few lay, we are getting about 5 eggs a day. Is there an easy way to identify who's laying what, and how often? All but one lay brown eggs and I know exactly which one lays the green. I may need to cull a few and I'm trying to make the decision easier.

That actually sounds about right as far as the amount of eggs you will get a day. Was that the only reason you were looking to cull?

No, I knew I was doing good in the egg dept., I just don't have room for the breeds that I'm adding and I can't talk my husband into expanding. So... I just thought, what if 5 of my hens are laying 6-7 eggs a week and one is only laying one, might as well get rid of that one right? Just trying to see who is producing what.
