Tips On Selling Eggs By The Road

They are running around $2.50 here and in the local stores about 4 dollars a carton. one of the local feed stores has a decent deal, They pay the sellers 2 dollars a dozen, and sell them for 2.75 a dozen, to get people into the store. They can't keep eggs in stock, so all the locals who are looking to get rid of extra eggs, can always bring them there.

What we do is we talk to our neighbors and tell them about our eggs, and usually, they make a weekly schedule to come in and buy eggs, and they also tell other people how good our eggs are. Also, are your eggs more expensive than the local stores? If they are you might want to reduce the price a little although $2.00 is pretty cheap. Are you in a small town or farming community? It's good to have farming country around so people who are local trust homegrown eggs. Just a few tips.

I'll buy your eggs! I've seen them go for $12/dz in urban Farmer's Mkts.... Agree with the suggestions to make signs, cute photos, ads, etc. Maybe a heads-up sign, like "eggs ahead".... sometimes when there's just one sign by the time someone thinks to turn in they're past, and loathe to turn around. Give em some warning maybe?
