My chicken started with symptoms of just sitting down and not eating, she lost weight. I noticed her crop wouldn’t empty even though she wasn’t eating. I massaged it for 3 days it got smaller way smaller but it felt like she has some small dough inside her. She has been eating blueberries and some water but still not her food and her crop still stays the same. I’m gonna give her monistat 7 tomorrow and wanna know how much I should give her, also do i have to make her eat after I give her the monistat?

I would get the Monistat 3 (or generic substitute) that comes with a small tube of external cream and 3 suppositories. Cut the suppositories into 4 roughly equal sized pieces. Give her 1 piece orally every 12 hours for 6 days. On the 7th day, give 1/2" of the cream for her two doses.

I feed scrambled egg and sardines for the first three days of treatment then offer a very wet mash with some kefir or Greek yogurt mixed in for the rest of the treatment period. Offer lots of water.

If you think she has been sick for a long time with sour crop it may be through her entire system and she may have a secondary infection that will need to be treated as well. Has she lost a lot of weight? What do her poop look like? Is the fluff under her vent cruddy?

Hello! Do you leave the Monistat whole or make it liquid? Then on last days you can give cream orally? I think my old girl has more wrong to have caused this but trying to give her a fighting chance. Thank you!
