Tired of fighting.

Then wear jeans, but if he sees you as scard then you alredy lost the battle.
Oh I’m not scared, respectful, not scared. If he had too many roos to be scared of even a large one. I had Rhode Island Reds until this guy. But got tired of the constant fighting with the very territorial RIR’s.

I wouldn’t say no. But unless you live somewhere near Gainesville Florida, I don’t think it’s gonna happen. Can you mail a rooster???
Sorry, I didn't realize you were that far away. You didn't put your location on your profile.
Sorry, no I can't ship birds, but I wish I could.

Like @Bigtom Turkey and @JacinLarkwell replied above, they usually will have enlarged spur buds that break through the bud around 4 to 5 months. As they age, they'll get larger and longer. I haven't ever removed spurs but I know that if they are removed, they will grow back. My almost 2 year old Roosters spurs get thin as they come to point and that point will almost like "shed" off, but only about a half inch at a time and it's not something that happens often. In fact, I've just discovered this shedding recently and the boys will be 2 years old May 20 2021
I have a copper maran rooster and he doesnt have any spurs

I have an Ameracuana rooster. He was great gentle and calm but when we had to cull his brother which the brother was a wheaten. Due to attacking so many times and drawing blood. He has started to get a little fierce but with some time to just leave him alone with the hens and the two other Sebright bantam roosters he has not been attacking me since then. Also, I recommend getting a Rhode Island White, they are brown egg layers and such a great kind of breed to put into your flock.

A quick question. I’m looking to replace my roo. He’s not a total ass, but I certainly can’t turn my back on him. He’s much better then my last one, who would charge across the yard to do battle anytime I walked out.
I’m thinking of trying a black astralthorp. I want a brown egg laying breed that isn’t territorial. My BA hens are very docile, so I was wondering if the roosters are as well?
My rooster is a Black Australorp. He does a great job protecting the girls, and keeps his distance.
