tis the season...Pumpkin seeds?

Would pumpkin seeds and guts hurt my flock?? I know probably no nutritional value to them...

Chickens can eat pumpkins. I've never given it to mine but know that many people do. Like all treats, though, feed it sparingly.

Yes! Your girls will love it! Last year we bought "decorative gourds" for the office. I don't know much about cooking them or if they are even good to eat, but you know the sort that's about this time of year. Ultimately my flock got to eat all of them! Squash and the seeds are certainly a healthy snack for a chicken. You can give them the pumpkin once your jack-o-lantern is done as long as it isn't moldy.

Pumpkin is fine. I buy small pumpkins and cut a hole in the top and one on the side. The Chickens totally pick it clean.
I also cook spaghetti squash and my Chickens and Ducks love that.

Do you remove the hull? I dry roasted my pumpkin seeds, so should I pulverize them a bit, or de-hull them? What is your method?
