Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

Pics
I know, right? I love hatching about 50% for the babies at the end, and about 50% for the data collection.

I am so excited to be doing a hatch-a-long with other nerds like myself. This is going to be the best documented hatch-a-long in BYC history. :lau :pop

I can't even remember how to do spreadsheets. I took a course on it and someone I lost all knowledge of everything I learned.

I tend to lean towards note taking and bullet points on Word myself. I think it's because I always have so much more to document than just a few numbers though, lol! For example the egg with the detached chalazae that even seemed to develop with slightly weaker veining but hatched perfectly. Pictures, notes, and organized folders on a thumb drive for every hatch I do. :lau

Here are the formulae and conditions. Sorry I can't just share the template.

The D-cell value in each formula is the D0 weight. So it's (D0 weight-D7 weight)/(D0 weight) formatted as a %.

Hope this helps someone!

Thank you for sharing your spreadsheet and calcs! Another biologist/data nerd here. I am expecting shipped eggs tomorrow, Friday, and possibly Tuesday or Wednesday. Looking forward to this hatch! :jumpy:jumpy:jumpy

Whether or not they’re female? How old are they when you eat them? I may do that in the far off future when I wanna breed for specific traits.
Yes, pullets with bad combs will be eaten. Ones with good combs that don't meet criteria will be sold.
I like to butcher around 16 weeks.
