To all the "Bator Builders" - Will this work in a pinch?

I used the idea the other's posted about the hot water heater thermostat (bought at Home Depot for 7.50, just make sure it goes down to 100 degrees), and had only ever wired a lightbulb.. one time

. It was quite simple, actually.

The whole point with electricity is that you have to make a LOOP with the current. So.. from the plug, the electricity flows up the 'hot' <black wire>, goes to the thermo, goes to the lightbulb. then the "other wire" has electricity flowing back down from the lightbulb to the plug.

That's pretty much how I understand it. The thermostat blocks the electricity flowing up, and turns off the light. When it gets cold enough, it lets the electricity through, and the light turns back on.

My tip: USE PLENTY of high quality Electrical tape!!! No need to get a shock!! TONS OF TAPE!

Let us know how it goes with your eggs! Just set my very first batch tonight! WOOHOO!
