To buy or not to buy.....

I have an opportunity to buy some Black Copper Marans for $5 each. I have never had these chickens and don't know much about them. Is that a good price on them? I read they are kind of a rare breed. What are their temperments like? Any info will help me make a good decision.

Rare, gorgeous, and I've read posts describing them as having good temperaments.

Wow, one hatchery had them as day old chicks for $150 for 10 chicks! I would love to find them for that price. Hmmm, wonder what is wrong with them??

What the Warden said! Get them if you have the space to quarantine them for at least 21 Days! I usually dont let mine in a flock until they go through rigorous worming, a bath and a full inspection for any form of mites or disease!

I paid $5.00 from a local breeder for my Blue copper Marans.strait run
The price is excellent . My Marans are pretty docile.................I pick them up.they are not noisy
and my BLCM hens lay like crazy...............big eggs.extra large to jumbo...............
Just hatched some a few weeks ago and got $8.00 a piece.
