I have an opportunity to buy some Black Copper Marans for $5 each. I have never had these chickens and don't know much about them. Is that a good price on them? I read they are kind of a rare breed. What are their temperments like? Any info will help me make a good decision.

What are you doing on BYC right now? Go get those BCMs!! NOW. And give one to me, too, while you're at it, please?

Rare, gorgeous, and I've read posts describing them as having good temperaments.

Now, go. Git! Snatch those BCMs up!

If you get them, remember to quarantine! Good luck.

  6. Wow, one hatchery had them as day old chicks for $150 for 10 chicks! I would love to find them for that price. Hmmm, wonder what is wrong with them?? [IMG]

What the Warden said! Get them if you have the space to quarantine them for at least 21 Days! I usually dont let mine in a flock until they go through rigorous worming, a bath and a full inspection for any form of mites or disease!

Quote:How did you go about selling them? I recently hatched some Solid Blue Marans (from Peachicks eggs [IMG]) and out of seven chicks 2 black, 2 blue and 1 splash are cockerels [IMG]
