To cull or not to cull...

I always skin mine. I love them on the grill and you would be surpised how juicy they are inside. I'm talking about 8 week old cornish X. The older girls and boys go in the pressure cooker.

Fill turkey fryer/large pot will water. Heat to exactly 165 F (use meat thermometer to monitor temperature) and dip entire bird for 30 seconds. Feathers will fall out into your hands. This if you want to keep the skin for freezing, etc. Works beautifully.

I culled all my BOs for the eating too much, too fat, too little laying, too docile for the roo thingy also...I'll not have another one. I vote for culling and eating. Skinning is easier than plucking if you are only doing two birds...just take off the skin like you would a jacket~first one arm/leg and then the next.

I'm not against eating birds, but you might try seperating your two hens for a while (like2-8 weeks, the longer the better), then reintroducing them. Since they are the "new" ones the hen's who have moved up in the peck order due to their absence may hold their place and keep them in a less dominant position.

I say cull or sell. I have 2 RSL hens that do the same.I got a roo to make the peace, but they still harass the other 5 even though Jack is the head chicken. It doesn't ever really stop. There is always someone to pick on(except that lowest hen poor thing).

I kept my hens in a dog crate in the garage for weeks.Put one back in and same thing.Same thing with both back in.Sometimes it works soemtimes it doesn't.Try and then move on. I only tolerate mine cuz they were the first hens and the kids love those 2 meanies.
