To Eat or not to eat?

I have a flock of ducks with an existing male, this male bullied and injured another male duckling we were raising for meat. The injured duck has swollen eyes but otherwise seems okay considering. My question is whether or not it would be safe to cull and eat or should we discard. Personally I don’t think it’s humane to eat something that is injured but my husband is a little more practical and wants to eat it if safe to do so. Does anyone have information on this?

The Drake was injured on Tuesday morning, we’ve been using vetricyn eye ointment on the eyes but they still appear swollen. He is able to walk around and appears “ok” otherwise.

I would wait until he gets better. I have harvested injured turkey by GH owls that day.
