Yet again, I am here with incubation questions.
So, I put 12 eggs in my bator and their due date was Monday, but only one hatched on that schedule, the other 11 are still not hatching. But what is weird, is when I candled them on the 18th day, all but two were kicking and squirming, so I would be surprised if that many were clears. Could they really all be this late, and should I give up on them!? Please advise!! Thanks!

When you say Kicking and a squirming----that throws be---I have candled ---mercy maybe 10,000 to 12,000 eggs in the last 3 to 4 years and have never seen that with a 18 day old egg?? Guess I need to slow down?? Have you looked at a candling chart? If you are seeing them in a liquid with the embryo squirming and kicking at day 18-----that egg has a serious problem and I would give up on it.

Its hard to see anything in a 18 day old egg.

Well, I meant that as an expression for saying they were alive, sorry for the confusion. I just meant you could see them slowly moving (not a lot) in the embryo. Yes, I have a printed candling chart and have passed all the steps and everything, now I'm just regulating them as in lockdown and don't know what to do. Yeah, I missaid that. :D

Low temperatures could make them that late. Have you candled since day 18? I have the most deaths in my eggs after day 18.

Still or forced air?

That is much too low. 100°F is the temperature for forced air, 101.5°F for still air. I'm amazed any hatched.

Still

Weeelllll, come to think of it, I have actually had a hard time keeping it at those temps, the incubator has been staying at 101 on its own. Can they be salvaged? Oh

What humidity? Have you calibrated your thermometers and hygrometers? What level on the egg are you measuring temperature at?
