If you need to peel back membrane, you can peel away the white one very carefully, making sure not to break the clear jelly-like one with veins underneath. When I have assisted, I peel off the white layer and roll back the jelly layer like rolling off a sock. If you tear it, it will bleed. I then leave the rolled up but attached to the chick and leave it in the baor until the umbilicus is clear, not containing blood. This way they won't bleed out. Takes a steady hand though.

I hope I never have to do that again. She is not that cute just very wet and wobbly but it is very interesting to watch her wobble around.

and yes eggs hatching are very tiring.... I just hope I can get my lock down to do what it is supose to do.
