To many roosters?

I had too many roosters. I gave mine away. Couldn't sell them, they were my babies. Hurt alot, but it was better for my hens

I just got rid of 4 roosters last night. Today the hens seem much happier. There is alot of singing going on. I hadn't heard that happy sound in quite a while. It is hard & emotional to get rid of them but its so much better for the girls.

You are right. Use that chicken math. You can never have too many chickens.

When counting chickens I have an 4 by 8 coop. I have 4 banties and expecting 2 more, and 1 stand. sized rir, I need to get some full sized hens for him.There run is HUGE. Do I have space? How many chickens MAX can I get? Do banties count an 1/2?

I am awful at math.

But I love CHICKEN math.

I have 17 chickens in a 10 x 10 coop and my run is 10 x 20. I did have 29 in there until I give my roosters away (made me very sad). When all my chickens were in there, there was plenty of room. I don't worry about my run too much, because most of the time, my chickens are free range during the day. I hope this helps you some. I don't know the exact room requirements per chicken. Maybe someone else can answer that. I know if they are too crowded they will pick on each other. Good luck with your chicken math.​

I have a bantam hutch with 2 hens and 1 roo (Paislee) he is really good with the girls. I would choose one that is really good to the girls and give the rest away. You most likely wont be able to sell them.

I know its hard I had to give away my other roo....
