Today I was supposed to meet up with a nice BYC member to do a swap. On the way my cars tire started rubbing and almost caught fire! Once we got into a safe spot, we couldn't get the car started.

She and her husband went out of their way, treated myself, my nephew, and neighbor (who were with me) to lunch and brought us safely back home!

I can't say enough thank yous to them for not leaving us in the 91 degree weather on the side of the road. My grandfather is coming to pick the car up, bring it by and fix it. He lives 110 miles away so it would have been almost three hours before he got to us.

Again... Thank you Debbie and Steve for lunch. Thank you for taking us home. Thank you for putting up with Skyler, and not being upset when I spilled my drink on you. But thank you most of all for the new cockeral. He's such a pretty boy and we love him already. Enjoy Ducky and Screemer, the plums we sent with you, and the beautiful drive back home.

Thanks a million guys.

LOL .. Really, Kate, I had forgotten about you spilling the drink!! I literally LOL'd when I read that!

It was great fun today .. we always enjoy seeing a different part of Texas ..

Congrats on your chicks! Enjoy the little roo.

Screemer and Duckie (aka Salt and Sugar) are settling right in. I don't know if I told you that all my EE hens have spice names .. they are The Spice Girls .. so I had to give these two girls spice names too! DD13 still calls Duckie, Duckie ..

Skyler is a real cutie .. and ALL boy. You're a GREAT role model for him.

Today was our pleasure .. we look forward to meeting up with you again!

Deb
