I swore we weren't supposed to name our chicks as we'd be to attached in case something happened to them and when they stopped producing.
Yet I see so many names chicks and chickens...explain please!!!
Thx in advance ♡ Franceska

Well as a kid everyone was allowed one 'pet'. We named our pets (they had lifetime rights) but not our food.

I was raised farm style and every animal gets a name and you still eat it unless it's a horse or dog etc... I never minded knowing who I was eating, in fact i prefer it that way I like to compare the meats

All that being said, I still don't know what happened to Donald a pekin drake who was my constant companion during my third year of life.  It's a family secret with many rumors.
hmmm I could only imagine family suppers...
