To paint or not to paint inside of nest box?

I painted the inside of my nest boxes with some leftover dark blue paint - makes 'em nice and dark inside. For what it's worth - I also painted my roost bars - they clean really easily!

If money isn't an option, Valspar is now my favorite brand of paint. It comes in the type with paint & primer in one, too.

I was just thinking about painting my nest boxes and came across this older thread. The nest boxes I was given had some wear and tear and I wanted to fill in the cracks, and avoid splinters. I first sealed it lightly and now going to paint it with semi-gloss ultra pure white. I think it will be easier to wash or wipe with a damp rag.

Personally I think the bright white may make them to bright inside.
I am in favor of painting them just thinking maybe a darker color.....or add curtains...

I realize I have some grey paint as well. Maybe I’ll use it.
