No. They are perch ontop of the brooder and they escape. Then they have a 10 by 11 ft room (my room)

If they are allowed to run around the room, then thats perfectly fine. It would be to small if they were stuck in the bin. Sounds like they can run around though.

I'd invest in a larger brooder. We use a tractor supply horse watering trough for ours. It can comfortably hold up to 20 chicks until their mostly feathered out.

I use a swimming pool brooder. Its more then enough room for my 3, week old assorted bantams right now. I don't even have shavings in the whole area, and haven't had to clean it once.
