To tuck or not to tuck? Is there a difference between boys and girls?

So, I read in Storey's Guide that roosters do not tuck their heads in their wings when they sleep. I'm just wondering if this is a genetic thing or a head gear thing. I just caught my month old chick doing this, and I'm wondering if it could mean she's a girl? Have you seen your chicks tuck their heads then grow up to be roosters? And, how true is this statement from Storey's Guide anyway?

My current roo doesn't tuck his head, but my former roo did. I have 7 cockerels in the brooder (5 cornish Xs, a silkie and a turken). I've seen at least three of them tuck their heads, all the cornish Xs.
