Pigeon fanciers have used tobacco stems as nesting material. Supposedly it reduces external parasites, but I would have to wonder about long term exposure to nicotine. Look what it did to me.

Chicken shouldn't chaw a plug of tobacco unless they have lost all their teeth. Also I couldn't resist. I imagine it could help with paracites. What specifically do you have in mind? As a topical insecticide I can not imagine why not give it a try.
I still fail to understand how we can't realize the medicinal benefits. Sure mycotoxins were believed harmful at one time and without those we don't have modern antibiotics.My friend has been using it for two years now. Boiling it first in water to remove its juice then giving it to his chicken in their water. To date he has had no incidents of avial diseases. Doesn't use modern vaccines for his indegenous chicken
