I found some 1x1 plastic deer netting in the crawl space and have put it over the run, and so far so good!! We also made a "scarehawk"
out of PVC pipe and elbow joints. We made it into a stick type figure (Upper body only!) and zip tied it to the corner of the run. We put a denim shirt and a mannequin head on it, named her Irene, and tied pie pans to "her" hands to flap around. My dog went crazy barking at her!!!!! She also startled the neighbor!!! So I hope she can keep the hawks at a distance. I'll say, the chickens are very alert and cautious now!
