Hugs and I hope the bears have morphed into teddy bears! Dh needs to talk to you and talk now. No excuse to be all crabby for an extended time. I always remind the kids that we can be gone in a second,and you don't want regrets of having treated someone poorly. To me it sounds likea mistake to move,but sounds like your dh wants to be the *man of the house*.It is going to be tough for him. I would stay with dad and do those repairs and help dad out.Glad to hear dad is leaving the door open for you guys to return if needed.

Glad that the bear turned into a teddy bear. I know when my DH gets like that he can be crabby with me but not the kids. I am so glad that DH and I are best friends we can and do talk about everything. I hope things work out and settle down for you. If both people are working both need to help with the cooking and cleaning. My DH did laundry he would wash and dry I folded it worked we usually cooked dinner together gave us a chance to talk about our days. Then the kids had dishes or we did them together also. I hope you both can find a balance that works for you.

Isn't it nice to be able to vent to friends, receive support and then go on with your life. What a nice feeling. Glad its going your way. Whatever advice you get, just remember its your life and we (collective BYC'er) don't know anyone's circumstances besides those we personally know, so just take what works for you and use it.
