That looks very serious. You should look into a vet. I know a really great one in Central Florida. But Idon’t know were you live so I cannot tell you what vets are best.

Does she regularly lay good eggs?

Sometimes it is due to lack of Calcium, or Vitamin D (chickens need a lot of sunlight). It could also just be because something startled her at night. Night is when hens develop eggs, and if they're working on one and a predator comes about there could be shell issues. Also some pullets first eggs could come out wonky (I got a couple yolkless last bunch), or just plain stress. Maybe she got picked on the day before. If it's just one incedent I wouldn't be alarmed, but make sure she is getting the proper feed, calcium, and sun!

Keep us posted:)

Yep young layers do this, its a shelless egg. Nothing to worry about. If its an older layer she may need some calcium (oyster shells) offered as a free choice will help. If it was laid in the middle of the night it could be stress or it was scared due to something it heard outside the coop or inside the coop..

So question is how old is your hen? If older need answers to the next few questions

Does she have a secure coop for night time?
Has there been any kind of attack on your hens or coop that could stress them? What is the temperature where u are?

:welcome :frow Not to worry. Every once in a great while I get a funky egg. Maybe give the birds some oyster shells. I put it in the birds feeders and they take what they want. You can buy some brands of feed with it already mixed in.
