I'm so old I Remember when:

I had a doll that cried if you turned her upside down and shook her (who wouldn’t?). That was as high tech as my dolls ever got.
Prior to that the most high tech I had was one whose eyelids moved so she could close her eyes. Now that really was creepy.
In truth I was more into animals and they were reliably low tech.
We had the ones with the eyelids closing and the ones that's supposed to poop so you learn to change the diapers (that's what they claimed).

High tech but low intelligence. Compared to chickens, low tech, high intelligence.

We never had Legos. One summer we were bored and my mom bought us Jacks. She had been a champion Jacks player in her youth, and taught us how to play. The only rule was, when were were done, we had to pick them all up and count them as we put them back in the container. If we didn't find all of them, we had to keep looking until we did. She didn't want to step on one.

I'm pretty sure that was the voice of experience speaking.

Are we sisters? My mother too was a big Jacks player in her youth and had the same rule!
She did get me Lego though.
