My dh got eggcited when the quail started laying. I told him not to set the eggs but he did anyway and today is day 14. oh well I tried to warn him. I really dont think that too many will hatch .

Today is day 14 for me also.

Why do you think yours wont hatch?
Not enough mating?

when we put the eggs in the hatcher there was an egg that was hollow it had cracked open and there was nothing in the egg what so ever. the last hatch we did hatched out on day 14 and 15 we still have no pips. dh started gathering the eggs 3 days after they started laying. Oh the males are rapid now but you know how they are when they first start to mate. they miss more than they hit.

Day 15 now and still nothing.
I hope mine hatch but I'm really not sure how it will turn out.
My Incubator temp fluctuates between 100* and 98*.
It's really hot here during the day and cools off a lot at night. Nothing I can really do about that.
I candled a few at 7 days and there was something in them. I shut off the egg turner yesterday.
So I can only hope for the best.

Coturnix aren't supposed to hatch until day 18 or so, around 15-21, so a lot of 'space' in the hatch dates. Give them time, they'll come out!

today is day 16 and nothing at all going on ours . I figured at least maybe a couple but nothing yet. I truly beleve he jumpped the gun on setting them. if they dont hatch I ll set some more he still has too many boys though . we just have 38 girls at least thats how many eggs we get a day and the rest are boys and he has 60 something quail.

When my young quail have started laying, the first week has seemed to not have any development, at least until the very end of the week. Did you not candle them? You should be able to at least tell if there is something in them to wait for.
