Day 17
Yay I just checked and can see aleast 10 eggs cracked.(I lost count)
How long will it take to see the first chick.
They are really small chips and cracks.
You shouldn't leave quail in the bator longer than 24 hours, but 12 is better. I've often had to move wet chicks, especially if the humidity jumped real high, like it did when I used the hovabator to hatch in! That won't happen again! If they are not drying, or they are 12-24 hours old, you can move them. Just be sure there are no drafts in the room, and do it quickly. Even if other chicks are hatching. Just try to check before opening it to make sure there are no other pips.
Day 21 and I can see 2 more hatching. Almost have the shell cut all the way around.
I have 19 now out of 34 eggs. 4 hatched yesterday on day 20.
Is it common for them to be so spread out?
