I have a lg forced air and am taking out the turner and putting them in egg carton to hatch. I have to work so they are coming out of turner at 3:30 instead of 12 will that be ok. The red vent plug gets pulled today?

I have a hovabator. BUT, I'd think you'd want to keep the plugs closed so that you can keep your humidity up?

I believe on the day 18
you must have the humidity up
to 70 and not open the bator for
the last 3 final days.and keep the plug in.
to maintain ur higher humidity.
but im sure there is some one here
who can help alittle more.

What is the model name of your bator is it a genesis? 1588 or a different brand, I know you said it is a forced air.

the LG i had,, the directions said to take out the plugs because the chicks needed more air,,,, but,, when you do that, your humidity goes way down,, which the directions say,, to keep it up, keep 1 of the plugs in

I have an LG. What I usually do is take the plugs out for a bit and then put them back in. I do this a few times during the day and just make sure that my humidity level is fine.

Leave the vent plugs in unless the humidity is too high. Remove them after the chicks hatch to help them dry or if there is a humidity spike during hatching. This hatch I pulled one vent plug out because humidity was too high after filling the other section of the tray and today I pulled the other out, flipped it over, and set it partially covering the hole because with 6 pips the humidity spiked to 70. That way I can maintain humidity right around 65% from day 18 through hatch without opening the incubator. It's easier to take a vent plug out if you add too much water than to add water later without opening the incubator.

Akane is right on target. Once your chicks start to hatch your humidity should rise and you will want to take the plugs out. This is also important because the chicks will need the extra ventilation.

Good Luck!!!!
